Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Month-End Closures

  • Lead and deliver accurate and timely month-end, quarterly, and annual book closures.
  • Ensure integrity of balance sheet and P&L through strong reconciliation and control processes.
  • Manage UED monthly book closures and shipping business line related closing and review work.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation to support clean year-end audits.
  • Consistently meet all daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting deadlines.

2. Trading, Derivatives & Treasury Accounting

  • Take full ownership of trading accounting activities.
  • Manage IRS and dry derivative accounting, ensuring compliance and reporting accuracy.
  • Provide daily cash flow and liquidity forecasting to support treasury decision-making.
  • Ensure accuracy in daily finance file processing, liquidity publishing, and query resolution.

3. Process Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and correct legacy issues (e.g., overhead lease accounting) and assume ongoing ownership.
  • Challenge upstream processes (e.g., broker reconciliation) by identifying gaps and strengthening controls.
  • Develop practical workarounds for IT delays to ensure uninterrupted project delivery.
  • Regularize reporting frameworks including overall invoice reporting and AP/AR unpaid reports.

4. Operational Resilience & Adaptability

  • Effectively manage competing priorities during peak reporting cycles.
  • Demonstrate leadership through delegation and time management to ensure critical deliverables remain on track.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA / CPA / ACCA (Qualified or Part Qualified).
  • 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in trading or commodity environments.
  • Strong understanding of treasury operations and derivative accounting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
