Job Description

About the practice

Adfactors PR's financial services practice advises banks, NBFCs, asset managers, brokerages, insurance companies, and capital market intermediaries. This is a high-velocity, disclosure-sensitive environment where reputation is closely linked to regulatory standing and investor confidence. The ideal candidate profile for this role draws from investment banking, financial regulation, or senior financial journalism — individuals who speak the language of capital markets and understand what drives market perception.

The role

This role calls for someone who combines financial market credibility with advisory sharpness. You will be advising CFOs, investor relations heads, CEOs, and boards on some of the most sensitive communications challenges in the financial sector — earnings, regulatory actions, capital raises, M&A, and crisis. You operate as a trusted counsel, not a service provider.

Candidate backgrounds we consider

We welcome candidates from across the following professional paths:

  • Investment banking or capital markets (equity, debt, M&A)
  • Financial services consulting or restructuring advisory
  • Financial journalism (Bloomberg, Mint, Economic Times, Business Standard — senior roles)
  • Corporate affairs or investor relations within a listed financial institution
  • Regulatory or compliance advisory in financial services

What you will do

  • Lead financial services client mandates with full P&L ownership — revenue forecasting, margin management, client retention and expansion
  • Advise CEOs, CFOs, and board members on reputation strategy linked to financial events — earnings communications, capital raises, regulatory inquiries, credit events, and M&A
  • Proven ability to engage in strategic negotiations, advise on high-stakes executive communication, and consistently deliver client outcomes that go beyond the brief — building the kind of trust that retains mandates and deepens relationships
  • Counsel clients on investor relations strategy and market narrative — including analyst engagement, institutional messaging, and proxy-related communications
  • Lead crisis advisory in financial sector contexts: regulatory action, fraud allegations, liquidity concerns, leadership transitions
  • Design and execute stakeholder communications strategies across regulators, investors, media, and employees
  • Maintain regular CEO-cadence with senior client decision-makers — structured, agenda-driven touchpoints that demonstrate ongoing strategic value
  • Build and win mandates through credible, research-backed pitches that speak the language of financial leadership
  • Develop Adfactors PR's thought leadership in financial communications and investor perception management
  • Build a team with capital markets fluency and advisory capability

What you bring

  • Deep understanding of capital markets, financial regulation, and investor dynamics in the Indian context
  • Ability to decode financial disclosures, regulatory filings, and market signals — and translate them into reputation implications
  • Strong commercial acumen — engagement structuring, value-based pricing, and P&L stewardship
  • Executive presence that resonates in financial boardrooms and with the investment community
  • Crisis and issues management experience in regulated, disclosure-driven environments
  • Research and analytical capability comparable to investment banking or strategy consulting standards

Experience

12 to 18 years — with significant exposure to capital markets, financial regulation, or senior financial advisory. Prior experience in investment banking, financial consulting, or senior financial journalism is strongly preferred.
