Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Incident Engineer L2 to join our Telco Security Operations Center (SOC). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cybersecurity, particularly in incident response and management. This role requires a strong proficiency in Splunk SIEM, as well as a deep understanding of telecommunications security protocols and practices. The Incident Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents, ensuring the integrity and security of our telecommunications infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor security alerts and incidents using Splunk SIEM and other security tools.
  • Investigate and analyze security incidents to determine their impact and root cause.
  • Coordinate incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Document incidents and responses in accordance with established procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to enhance security posture and incident response capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends in the telecommunications sector.
  • Participate in post incident reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of incident response processes.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Proven experience with Splunk SIEM for security monitoring and incident management.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Experience in incident response and management in a SOC environment.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications security protocols and technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
  • Experience with other SIEM tools and security technologies.
  • Familiarity with network security concepts and practices.
  • Experience in threat hunting and vulnerability management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in the telecommunications industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 7 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on incident response and management.
  • Proven track record of working in a SOC environment, preferably within the telecommunications sector.
