Job description
Designation: Senior SEO Executive / Associate SEO Manager
Department: Global Marketing
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
TutorCloud is an AI platform for education, serving parents/students directly and, separately, schools/districts, around the globe. This is a hybrid execution + management role. We need someone who can personally run technical audits, write on-page fixes, and manage a crawl report and who can manage a junior SEO exec plus a content agency against a shared strategy, without every task routing back through the SEO Lead. You'll own day-to-day delivery; the SEO Lead owns overall strategy and stakeholder sign-off.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical SEO (hands-on)
- Run and interpret Screaming Frog crawls on a regular cadence, with particular attention to indexability regressions introduced by the ongoing React migration (JS rendering, hydration issues, broken canonical/meta injection)
- Own execution of the geo-redirection audit and ongoing monitoring — crawler detection method, 302 vs 301 usage, hreflang reciprocity, Vary header correctness, and content-parity checks between crawler and user views
- Manage redirect chains, canonicalization, structured data/schema, Core Web Vitals and crawl budget issues
- Flag anything that drifts toward cloaking risk before it becomes a live problem, not after
- Apply internal linking best practices so link equity flows to priority pages — working within the site's existing IA/structure, not designing it from scratch
2. On-Page & Content SEO
- Write keyword briefs to spec: intent classification, per-market MSV, competitor SERP page-type analysis, and correct handling of MSV-duplicate keyword groups (no volume double-counting)
- Execute and QA on-page changes at scale across build phases
- Act as the SEO sign-off gate between Content Marketing's wireframes and go-live
- QA the content agency's output against brief, not just topic relevance
3. Off-Page SEO
- Run link-building/digital PR execution and outreach
- Ongoing backlink audits via Arefs — quality of referring domains, disavow decisions where needed
4. Analytics & Reporting
- Fully hands-on in GA4 (custom events/conversions), GTM (tag/trigger implementation without waiting on engineering), and Search Console (query/page/country-level analysis)
- Build regular performance reporting — traffic, rankings, conversions — for the SEO Lead and stakeholders
- Sanity-check the numbers you're reporting on: catch inflated or contradictory assumptions in shared data rather than passing them upstream unchecked
5. AI & Automation
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) day-to-day to speed up keyword research, briefs, and reporting
- Willingness to be trained on building AI-assisted SEO workflows (clustering, brief drafting, crawl-issue triage) — no prior experience building these required, just comfort learning and adopting them
6. Team & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and QA the Junior SEO Executive's keyword research, on-page work, and reporting
- Be the primary point of contact for the content agency — hold them to briefs, not just topic ownership
- Partner directly with Content Marketing on landing page builds and Engineering on technical fixes
Must-Haves
- 4–7 years of hands-on SEO experience, including at least 1–2 years managing a junior team member and/or an external agency
- Genuinely hands-on in GA4, GTM, and Search Console — able to configure events/conversions and implement tags directly, not just read dashboards
- Strong technical SEO fundamentals: crawlability, indexation, redirects, reflag, structured data, Core Web Vitals
- Solid on-page and content SEO experience — briefing, execution, and SERP intent analysis
- Working off-page/link-building experience
- Advanced, regular practical use of Arefs and Screaming Frog (not occasional/self-taught level)
- Working understanding of internal linking best practices (link equity, priority-page routing)
- Comfortable using everyday AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) for research/writing/reporting — willingness to learn AI-driven SEO workflow automation on the job, no prior build experience required
- Comfortable working with a JS-rendered/SPA site (React, Vue, or Angular) and its crawl/indexation quirks
- Strong spreadsheet skills for keyword data management and deduplication
Good to Have
- Exposure to B2B or lead-gen SEO (nice to have, not required)
- Edtech or other compliance-adjacent vertical experience (comfort with trust/compliance content — FERPA, COPPA, GDPR)
- Multi-market/international SEO experience — reflag at scale, geo-targeting, IP-based redirection and its risks
- Experience managing or briefing external content agencies
- Equal Opportunity Employer
We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applications are welcome from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
