Search Engine Optimization Manager

Pepper (https://www.pepper.inc/) is building a global content marketplace that brings companies and content creators together to scale up content creation processes across 75+ content verticals and 150+ content categories. Over the past 5 years, over 100,000+ freelance content creators have applied to be part of the Pepper network of which we work with the top 5% of talent, and on the other end - we work with over 2500+ customers like Amazon, Adobe, Google, HDFC Bank, Adani, and the majority of the startup ecosystem.

We are looking for an experienced SEO Consultant to be embedded in our client office in Mumbai. You will be the central point of ownership for this account — acting as the strategic and operational bridge between the Clients team and Pepper's internal delivery teams. This role demands both SEO depth and strong client-facing instincts.

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary day-to-day interface between the clients team and Pepper's SEO delivery team
• Own the overall SEO roadmap and ensure consistent momentum across all ongoing initiatives
• Drive execution across technical SEO, content strategy, performance reporting, and site optimisation
• Manage project timelines, cross-functional dependencies, and stakeholder communication
• Conduct regular sync-ups and reviews with client stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment
• Identify gaps, flag risks early, and proactively drive resolution across teams
• Translate complex SEO insights into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders

SEO skills

• 4- 6 years of hands-on SEO experience
• Strong grounding in technical SEO (crawlability, site architecture, Core Web Vitals)
• Proficient with SEO tools: Semrush, Ahrefs, GSC, Screaming Frog
• Experience managing SEO roadmaps, not just task execution
• Familiarity with content SEO and performance reporting

Soft skills & background

• Prior experience in a client-facing or account management role
• Agency background preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and drive follow-through
• Comfortable working onsite at a client's office

This is a full-time contractual( 12 months ), in-office role based out of Mumbai
