Role Overview
We are a Chicago-based digital agency looking for a Part-Time SEO Manager who will be fully responsible for managing 8-10 client SEO projects simultaneously. This role requires strong ownership, execution, and accountability for keyword rankings, organic traffic growth, and high-quality white hat backlink building.
You will independently manage SEO performance for assigned projects and ensure consistent improvements in visibility, rankings, and traffic using strictly White Hat SEO practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage 78 SEO projects end-to-end
- Own keyword performance: tracking, optimization, and ranking improvements
- Plan and execute White Hat backlink strategies (guest posts, niche edits, citations, outreach, digital PR, etc.)
- Ensure backlink quality, relevance, and compliance with Google guidelines
- Perform on-page SEO optimizations to support keyword growth
- Monitor organic traffic trends and take proactive actions to improve performance
- Identify SEO gaps and opportunities using tools like Google Search Console and analytics platforms
- You will have to create 75-100 backlinks manually for the websites.
- Ensure steady month-on-month growth in:
- Keyword rankings
- Organic traffic
- Backlink quality & authority
- Maintain SEO reports and performance tracking for each project
- Stay updated with Google algorithm changes and best SEO practices
Mandatory Requirements
- Proven experience managing multiple SEO projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of White Hat SEO techniques only
- Hands-on experience in:
- Keyword research & tracking
- Link building & outreach
- On-page SEO
- Google Search Console insights
- Ability to work independently and take complete ownership of deliverables
- Strong attention to detail and performance-driven mindset
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience working with U.S.-based clients or agencies
- Familiarity with local SEO and service-based businesses
- Experience with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, etc.
Work Expectations
- Part-time role with flexible hours
- Must be able to manage deadlines independently
- Availability for limited overlap with U.S. (CST) working hours
