- 6+ years of hands-on experience in EDI testing and automation.
- Strong understanding of EDI X12/EDIFACT standards and common transaction sets.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience with tools: Postman, ReadyAPI/SOAPUI, JMeter, REST Assured, Selenium, PyTest/TestNG.
- Good knowledge of APIs, JSON, XML, flat files, SFTP, and message queues.
- Experience with CI/CD and version control: Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Roles & Responsibilities
The SDET (L3) EDI Testing will be responsible for leading complex EDI testing initiatives across multiple transaction sets, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and seamless integration between trading partners. This role requires strong hands-on automation expertise, deep functional knowledge of EDI standards, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional business, development, and operations teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- EDI Testing & Validation
- Perform end-to-end testing of EDI transaction sets such as 850, 855, 856, 810, 820, 940, 945, etc.
- Validate mapping between EDI standards and backend applications (ERP, WMS, TMS).
- Conduct file-level validation, schema validation, and functional workflow checks.
- Validate inbound and outbound EDI documents, acknowledgments (997/999), and trading partner-specific rules.
- Test Automation
- Design and develop automated test suites for EDI workflows using tools such as Python, Java, Postman, ReadyAPI, JMeter, REST Assured, etc.
- Implement automation frameworks for API, flat-file, and integration testing.
- Build reusable scripts for parsing, validating, and comparing EDI transactions.
- Technical EDI Analysis
- Analyze EDI maps, schemas, control numbers, loop segments, and trading partner specifications.
- Work with VANs, middleware, and EDI platforms such as MuleSoft, IBM Sterling, Seeburger, Dell Boomi, Axway, etc.
- Collaborate with integration and mapping teams to debug translation errors and mapping gaps.
- Test Strategy & Quality Governance
- Create detailed test plans, scenarios, traceability matrices, and regression suites.
- Drive quality standards, testing best practices, and automation adoption across the team.
- Provide L3-level technical leadership, mentoring junior SDETs and QA engineers.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with business analysts, developers, trading partner teams, and operations support.
- Participate in design reviews, requirement walkthroughs, and defect triage meetings.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, and dependencies proactively.
