Job Description

About Newton:

Newton School of Technology (NST) is a new-age institution redefining technical education in India. Founded by IIT alumni, NST offers a 4-year B. Tech in Computer Science and AI, focused on

hands-on learning and deep industry integration. Within two years, over 93% of students have

secured paid internships with companies like Razorpay, SarvamAI, and DRDO, along with global

exposure through tech treks to Singapore and Silicon Valley. Led by a distinguished faculty

comprising ICPC World Finalists and ex-professionals from ISRO, Microsoft, MakeMyTrip, and

several other leading tech organizations, NST is building a scalable, high-impact model that produces industry-ready talent for the world's most advanced technology roles.

About the Role:

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Subject Matter Expert (SME) – DSA with 0–1 years of experience, who is passionate about algorithmic thinking and structured problem-solving. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals who want to build a strong foundation in technical education while supporting students in mastering efficient algorithms and problem-solving strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Support & Content Development: Assist in developing learning materials, examples,

problem sets, and assessments focused on algorithm design techniques, complexity analysis, and

problem-solving paradigms.

  • Lab Assistance: Support instructors during coding and algorithm labs by helping students

understand paradigms, optimize solutions, and debug effectively.

  • Student Mentorship: Provide one-on-one and group mentorship to help students improve logical reasoning, algorithmic efficiency, and confidence in solving complex problems.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Evaluate student submissions, review algorithm designs, and provide

structured feedback on correctness, optimization, and time/space complexity.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with faculty and curriculum teams to refine course content and

continuously improve learning outcomes.

  • Learning & Growth: Continuously upgrade your knowledge in data structures, algorithms,

optimization techniques, and competitive programming standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

● Bachelor's degree (or final-year student) in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

● Strong foundation in Data Structures and Algorithms.

● Solid understanding of problem-solving paradigms such as brute force, greedy, divide &

conquer, dynamic programming, backtracking, and graph algorithms.

● Familiarity with time and space complexity analysis (Big-O notation).

● Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C++, Java, or Python.

● Ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.

Why join NST

● Be part of a mission-driven team bridging the gap between education and employability.

● Learn from ICPC world finalists, IIT/IISc mentors, and experienced industry professionals.

● Gain early exposure to curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and student mentorship.

● Build a strong foundation for a long-term career in education, research, or software engineering.

Good to Have:

● Internship experience or academic projects involving algorithms, optimization, or problem-solving.

● Participation in coding contests (CodeChef, Codeforces, LeetCode, etc.).

● Experience creating technical content, tutorials, or peer learning sessions.

● Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.

Key Competencies:

● Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

● Passion for learning, teaching, and continuous improvement.

● Ability to bridge theoretical concepts with practical implementation.
