About The Role
We're looking for an experienced Backend Engineer (SDE II) who can design, build, and scale backend systems with high ownership, is self-motivated, and drives measurable impact. You'll work closely with product, business, infra, and data teams to build scalable backend systems and leverage AI to drive business impact and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, modular, correct, and production-ready code in Node.js or Python.
- Able to think and design systems on scale using async programming, error handling, and best design practices.
- Debug and optimize performance, memory, and concurrency issues.
- Work with databases, caching (Redis or equivalent), and queues (SQS/PubSub) for reliable system design.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications using AWS/GCP, Docker, and observability tools.
- Take end-to-end ownership from requirements to deployment and impact measurement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work collaboratively to achieve objectives and deliver impactful outcomes.
- Use AI tools/APIs (OpenAI, LiteLLM, LangChain, etc.) to improve workflows and product capabilities.
Must Have
- Strong in Node.js or Python
- High ownership and self-driven execution - You are an engineer, not a coder!
- Hands-on product development experience
- Basic infra knowledge (AWS/GCP, Docker, monitoring, queues)
- Practical AI usage or integration experience
- System design - Thinking at scale (performance, reliability, cost)
Good to Have (Optional)
- Built or contributed to AI-driven applications
- Exposure to large-scale or high-traffic systems
