Summary: The scrum master&rsquos role is to facilitate effective coordination among these teams as they collaborate on a shared products or programs. This position promotes alignment, addresses cross-team impediments, and nurtures a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement to ensure the timely and seamless delivery of features.
Core Responsibilities:
Facilitate Scrum of Scrums Ceremonies
Organize and lead regular meetings to synchronize teams progress, manage dependencies, and proactively address risks across teams.
Ensure timely and accurate capture of updates from product owners and engineering managers, escalating critical issues when necessary
Organize sprint demonstrations
Create and track project plans
Facilitate bug triage and incident review discussions with the respective stakeholders
Foster transparency and visibility throughout all teams.
Participate in sprint retrospectives and facilitate the identification of actionable outcomes.
Summarize, organize, and distribute retrospective results to engineering managers.
Impediment Removal Across Teams
Identify and resolve cross-team blockers that hinder progress.
Collaborate with Product Owners, project managers, engineering managers and stakeholders to address systemic issues.
Foster Agile Culture
Guide Scrum teams in applying Agile principles effectively.
Share best practices and foster a learning environment for continuous improvement.
Encourage cross-functional collaboration and self-organization.
Alignment with Program Goals
Ensure that team-level goals align with program-level objectives and timelines.
Support PI (Program Increment) planning and execution.
Collaborate with Product Management to maintain roadmap alignment.
Metrics and Reporting
Track and report on team velocity, sprint progress, and program-level KPIs.
Use tools like Azure DevOps, Jira or Rally to create and maintain dashboards and burndown charts.
Provide insights to leadership on delivery health and improvement areas.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor&rsquos degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or Engineering
Minimum 3+ experience in Agile/SCRUM development project experience including Agile principles and the SCRUM framework
Experience as a business analyst for software projects is preferred
Skills and Competencies:
Agile Expertise: Knowledge and understanding of the SDLC process. Deep understanding of Scrum, SAFe, and Agile frameworks.
Facilitation: Skilled in leading large-scale meetings and workshops.
Conflict Resolution: Ability to mediate and resolve inter-team conflicts.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication across technical and business domains.
