We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SCM - Warehouse Management Specialist to optimize and manage our warehousing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse activities, from inbound logistics and inventory management to outbound distribution and order fulfillment. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain principles, proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), and the ability to drive efficiency and accuracy within the warehouse environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns processing.
- Manage inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency and flow of goods.
- Implement and maintain effective Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionality, ensuring accurate data capture and system utilization.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse operations (e.g., order fulfillment rate, inventory accuracy, labor productivity, shipping errors) and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with procurement, production, sales, and logistics teams to ensure seamless flow of materials and timely order fulfillment.
- Manage and optimize inbound and outbound logistics processes, including coordination with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Implement and adhere to safety protocols and regulations within the warehouse environment.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Utilize data to forecast warehouse needs and plan for future capacity requirements.
- Handle and resolve any discrepancies, damages, or issues related to warehouse operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Supply Chain Management (SCM) principles, specifically in Warehouse Management.
- Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including configuration and daily operations.
- Knowledge of inventory control techniques and best practices.
- Familiarity with logistics and transportation processes.
- Ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights for operational improvements.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse setting.
