- Diagnosing and resolving issues related to virtual desktop access, application compatibility, and user connectivity.
- Creating application packages by capturing applications into virtual disks (AppStacks) to be delivered through App Volumes.
- Defining which users or groups should receive specific application packages based on their needs.
- Configuring and managing the App Volumes Manager, including storage settings, security policies, and user access controls.
- Identifying and resolving issues related to application delivery through App Volumes, including monitoring for potential errors or performance bottlenecks.
- Efficiently updating application packages and rolling out changes to users seamlessly.
- Ensuring seamless integration between App Volumes and the Horizon virtual desktop environment.
- Understanding the architecture and functionalities of VMware Horizon virtual desktop platform.
- In-depth knowledge of App Volumes features, configuration options, and best practices.
- Experience in capturing and packaging applications into virtual disks
- Familiarity with Active Directory user management and group policies for assigning applications.
- Ability to automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages to streamline application management.
- Creating and managing virtual desktop pools, assigning user profiles, and deploying golden images across the VDI environment.
- Should be able to handle test and release of applications and Patches using SCCM
- Should have deep knowledge in Image Management using SCCM
- Should be able to create complex software packages using tools like Admi Studio or Orca.
- Provide support for incidents and work requests.
Required Skills For a VMware Horizon Role
- Expertise in VMware Horizon architecture, components, and administration
- Understanding of virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere and ESXi
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols
- Experience with security best practices for virtual environments
- Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization and vSAN VMware VXRail, vSphere, and PowerEdge Servers
- Strong experience in implementation/ Upgrade of VMware VCenter, ESXi, and other components Upgrade
- Installing and configuring new thin client devices on the network, including setting up network connections, user profiles, and access permissions.
- Diagnosing and resolving problems related to network connectivity, including slow performance, connection drops, and login failures.
- Applying software updates and security patches to thin client devices and the central server to maintain system integrity.
- Creating and managing user accounts on the central server, assigning access levels, and managing user profiles.
- Performs the system administration tasks of high complexity on Windows/VMWare environment
- Installs, tests, tunes, maintains, designs and documents supporting systems, utility programs, monitoring tools
- Provide subject matter expertise for Microsoft Windows Infrastructure, including hardware, software, common services, process improvement, and standardization
- Should be strong in troubleshooting server side as well as client side issues in SCCM
- Should have deep knowledge in Image Management using SCCM
- Should have basic knowledge of Windows Server 2016, 2019
- Basic knowledge of SQL will be a plus.
- Should be able to resolve the tasks escalated by L1 and L2 teams.
