Job Summary
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior SAP Technical Architect / Development Architect with 17+ years of SAP experience to lead enterprise SAP technical architecture and development strategy across complex SAP landscapes.
This role requires a deep technical expert with strong architectural vision, capable of designing scalable SAP solutions across S/4HANA, integrations, and enterprise platforms. The architect will drive technical governance, architecture standards, and solution design while mentoring development teams and collaborating with business and functional leaders.
The ideal candidate will combine hands-on SAP development expertise with strategic architecture leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality SAP solutions aligned with modern SAP technology standards.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise SAP Technical Architecture
- Define and lead SAP technical architecture strategy across enterprise systems
- Design scalable solutions for SAP S/4HANA and hybrid SAP landscapes
- Ensure alignment with SAP Clean Core principles and modern architecture standards
- Provide architectural guidance across development, integration, and platform design
SAP Development Architecture
Lead architecture and design for SAP developments including:
- Reports and enhancements
- Interfaces and integrations
- Forms and workflows
- Data conversions and migration frameworks
- Custom frameworks and reusable technical components
Establish development governance and best practices for enterprise SAP landscapes.
S/4HANA Technical Leadership
Architect solutions using modern SAP technologies including:
- ABAP on HANA
- CDS Views
- AMDP
- OData services
- Fiori backend services
- RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP)
Ensure development is aligned with S/4HANA extensibility frameworks.
Integration Architecture
Design and govern integrations across SAP and enterprise systems using:
- IDocs and ALE
- BAPIs / RFCs
- REST and SOAP APIs
- Middleware tools such as SAP CPI / PI / PO
- Integration with cloud platforms and external enterprise applications
Technical Governance & Standards
- Establish development standards, code review frameworks, and architecture guidelines
- Drive performance optimization and system scalability
- Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards
Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead and mentor SAP technical teams and development leads
- Conduct technical design reviews and architecture validations
- Guide teams on best practices for SAP development and extensibility
Project Delivery Support
- Participate in solution design workshops and architecture discussions
- Support large SAP implementations, upgrades, and S/4HANA transformations
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and provide strategic solutions
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 17+ years of SAP technical experience
- Strong background in SAP ABAP development and architecture
- Proven experience working as SAP Technical Architect or Development Architect
S/4HANA Expertise
Hands-on architecture experience with:
- ABAP on HANA
- CDS Views
- AMDP
- OData services
- Fiori backend architecture
Integration Architecture
Strong expertise in:
- SAP IDoc and ALE architecture
- API-based integrations
- SAP middleware (CPI / PI / PO)
- Integration between SAP and enterprise systems
Architecture & Leadership
- Experience defining enterprise SAP architecture standards
- Ability to lead large distributed development teams
- Strong experience working in complex SAP enterprise landscapes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform)
- Exposure to cloud integrations and hybrid SAP landscapes
- Experience with S/4HANA migrations or large transformation programs
- SAP certification in ABAP or S/4HANA
