Position Summary:
We are establishing a new, in-house SAP MDG Delivery Team and are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Functional SAP MDG Consultant to join us. In this hands-on role, you will lead the delivery of SAP MDG implementation activities across a multi-year, multi-release program. You will be instrumental in driving design decisions, performing functional unit testing, and coordinating business testing efforts. This position demands deep expertise in SAP MDG functional configuration, a strong collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage complex stakeholders in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- SAP MDG Implementation Leadership: Lead the delivery of SAP MDG implementation activities in a functional, hands-on capacity across a multi-year, multi-release program.
- MDG Functional Expertise: Provide hands-on MDG expertise, specifically around MDG functional configuration (MDG-IMG nodes), Functional Specification (FS) development, through to business sign-off and handover for Technical Specification (TS) development.
- Design & Testing Ownership: Be responsible for driving key design decisions, executing functional unit testing, and coordinating between testing teams and business users during business testing phases.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Actively collaborate with other product owners and engineering teams to understand their needs and coordinate the seamless integration of MDG with their respective products.
- Backlog & User Story Management: Independently manage the backlog and specific user stories assigned as per product owner prioritization based on business needs. This includes the creation of backlog items and mapping out dependencies in collaboration with users and customers.
- Agile Way of Working: Work closely with development teams in an Agile way of working; contribute to the planning, execution, and review of each sprint, and collaborate with the team to refine and improve the development process.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure strict governance is followed throughout the change deployment process.
- End-to-End Delivery: Collaborate closely with respective MDG Scrum Masters, engineering leads, and other MDG teams to ensure successful end-to-end delivery of solutions.
Required Experience & Skills:
- MDG Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience working as an SAP MDG engineer/functional consultant, with overall experience of 5+ years in large-scale SAP transformation initiatives.
- Hands-on Implementation: Proven hands-on implementation experience of SAP MDG, including deep knowledge in SAP MDG configuration (MDG-IMG nodes), coupled with knowledge of architectures and business processes.
- SAP Master Data Expertise: Expert experience of S/4HANA is a must, with in-depth knowledge of Business Partner and Material Master Data Models.
- MDG Specific expertise required in the following areas:
- Data Model extensions & standard, specifically for MDG-BP/C/S, MDG-M, MDG-F.
- Governance Process Modelling.
- Process modelling BRF+ WF and related BAdI implementations.
- UI modelling changes/enhancements.
- DRF set up and monitoring.
- Replication setup and enhancement using IDoc.
- Replication setup and enhancement using Proxy.
- Any other proxy/web service integration experience.
- Inbound integration into MDG system.
- Search and duplicate check enhancements.
- Derivations and Validations (BRF and BAdi based).
- Consolidation and mass processing.
- Integration Technologies: Experience/familiarity with integration technologies and methods for integrating MDG with SAP and non-SAP applications, such as SAP-PO/CPI, Kafka Event Streaming, and REST API.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in managing complex stakeholders and the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Agile & Project Methodologies: Experience in working with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall delivery models, specifically using Jira for user story delivery (from initial backlog through story refinement and FS development).
- Problem Solving & Communication: Good problem-solving and communication skills with a collaborative mindset across business functions.
- Education: Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Finance or IT-related discipline.
