SAP Functional Consultant (PP/APO)

About the Role
We are a global manufacturing organization looking for an experienced SAP Functional Consultant to support our plant in Chennai. The role provides daytoday functional support across key SAP manufacturing modules and works closely with local business teams. You will also act as a backup for MES user support while coordinating with global SAP/MES teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daytoday functional support for SAP PP, APO and other manufacturing-related SAP and S/4HANA modules.
- Work closely with production, planning, procurement, QA and logistics teams to resolve manufacturing-related SAP issues.
- Log, triage, and prioritize incidents raised by business users and coordinate fixes with global SAP/MES teams.
- Lead functional testing and UAT activities for local enhancements or changes.
- Support process mapping, documentation of requirements, and handling of local S/4HANA change requests.
- Act as a backup for MES user support and escalate unresolved MES issues to the global MES team.
- Provide enduser training, prepare documentation, and maintain consistent communication with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Business or related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of SAP functional experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Handson experience in SAP PP/APO, MM, WM, SD, QM, PU and S/4HANA.
- Understanding of MES concepts and SAPMES interfaces.
- Basic knowledge of IDocs, ALE, APIs and ABAP debugging.
- Strong English communication skills; Tamil proficiency is a plus.
- Experience working with global support teams and ITIL-based processes.
