Key Responsibilities
System Administration
- Manage users, roles, and authorizations.
- Client administration: creation, copy, deletion.
- Monitor system performance, background jobs, and system logs.
Transport Management
- Manage changes across SAP landscapes (DEV, QA, PROD).
- Handle transport directories, CTS, and ChaRM processes.
Database & Cloud Administration
- Administer SAP HANA databases, backups, recovery, and performance optimization.
- Manage SAP systems on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Support migration to S/4HANA and HANA DB optimization.
Installation, Upgrades & Patching
- Install SAP systems and perform kernel upgrades.
- Apply patches and support packages.
Security & Compliance
- Implement role-based access control and ensure audit compliance.
- Configure SSL, SNC, and secure communications.
Integration & Automation
- Support SAP BASIS ABAP and functional modules (MM, SD, FI, etc.) for system availability.
- Configure SAP Gateway, Fiori, and RFC connections.
- Automate BASIS tasks using shell scripting or Python.
Monitoring & Disaster Recovery
- Use SAP Solution Manager, Focused Run, and third-party tools for monitoring.
- Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
