Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly proficient SAP ABAP Developer with strong hands-on experience in OData services API development and SAP system integrations. The ideal candidate will design develop and optimize backend solutions that support modern digital applications such as SAP Fiori mobile apps and external API-driven integrations. This role requires deep ABAP technical skills combined with the ability to build scalable secure and high-performing OData services within SAP S/4HANA or ECC environments. Shape Key Responsibilities 1. ABAP Development & Enhancements Develop enhance and optimize ABAP programs including reports function modules BAPIs BADIs user exits enhancements and class-based objects. Build scalable object-oriented ABAP solutions following SAP development standards. Perform debugging troubleshooting root-cause analysis and performance tuning. Shape 2. OData Service Design & Development Design develop and maintain custom OData services using SAP Gateway (SEGW) and CDS-based OData exposure. Implement deep entities batch processing navigation properties and complex filtering/sorting logic. Integrate OData services with SAP Fiori UI5 mobile clients and external API consumers. Ensure compliance with security protocols (OAuth2 SAML token-based auth) when exposing APIs. Shape 3. API & Integration Capabilities Support integrations using OData REST APIs SOAP services RFCs IDocs and BAPIs. Collaborate with integration platforms (SAP CPI PI/PO API Gateway middleware). Troubleshoot interface failures optimize payload structure and handle performance bottlenecks. Shape 4. SAP S/4HANA Development Develop CDS views (basic composite analytical) for OData consumption. Utilize HANA pushdown techniques using AMDP and SQLScript. Work with S/4HANA data models and extensibility options. Shape 5. Quality Documentation & Collaboration Ensure code quality through peer reviews unit testing and adherence to SAP clean code principles. Produce technical specifications interface documentation and integration diagrams. Collaborate with functional consultants architects UI developers and external partners. Support production deployments releases and ongoing maintenance/operations. Shape Required Skills & Experience Technical Expertise Atleast 10+ yrs of experience in SAP development. Strong ABAP OO development experience. Deep knowledge of SAP Gateway SEGW and CDS-based OData services. Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs within SAP. Strong understanding of Fiori/UI5 backend integration design. Experience with performance analysis tools (SAT ST05 runtime analysis). Familiarity with SAP security roles OData ACLs and API governance. Integration Skills Solid understanding of RFC/BAPI/IDoc frameworks. Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
