About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer with strong technical expertise in SAP development, customisation, and enhancement. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in ABAP programming, RICEF objects, interfaces, and performance optimisation, along with basic exposure to SAP APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization).

The candidate will be responsible for delivering technical solutions, supporting business requirements, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with functional teams across SAP environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain custom SAP applications using ABAP.
• Develop and enhance RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms).
• Work on Classical Reports, Interactive Reports, ALV Reports, and Object-Oriented ABAP.
• Develop and maintain Function Modules, BAPIs, BAdIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, and Enhancement Framework objects.
• Work on IDocs, RFCs, and other integration technologies to facilitate seamless data exchange.
• Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning of ABAP programs.
• Analyse functional specifications and prepare technical design documents.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to understand business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Support testing, defect resolution, deployment, and post-production activities.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilise basic knowledge of SAP APO to support related technical requirements, integrations, and troubleshooting activities, as needed.

Required Technical Skills

• 5–6 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Strong knowledge of Core ABAP programming and SAP development standards.
• Experience in RICEF development and custom enhancements.
• Proficiency in Reports, ALV, Data Dictionary (DDIC), Function Modules, BAPIs, BAdIs, and User Exits.
• Experience with IDocs, RFCs, and interface development.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation skills.
• Ability to understand functional specifications and independently handle development assignments.
• Basic exposure to SAP APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization) and familiarity with its business processes or integration scenarios.
• Good understanding of SAP ECC or S/4HANA environments.

Good to Have

• Exposure to SAP APO modules such as Demand Planning (DP), Supply Network Planning (SNP), or Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS).
• Basic understanding of CIF (Core Interface) and SAP APO–ECC integration.
• Exposure to ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, or modern ABAP programming practices.
• Experience in implementation, rollout, enhancement, or support projects.
