Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Salesforce Solution Architect with deep healthcare domain expertise to lead the design and implementation of a Bed Board Management solution on the Salesforce platform. This role will architect and deliver a real-time patient flow and capacity management solution that integrates with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), enabling improved throughput, reduced length of stay (LOS), and optimized bed utilization across inpatient facilities.

The ideal candidate combines Salesforce platform mastery, healthcare operations knowledge (ADT, patient placement, EVS workflows), and enterprise integration experience to deliver scalable, compliant, and high-performing solutions. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 8–12+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture
  • 5+ years of Salesforce platform experience
  • Proven experience with Salesforce Health Cloud
  • Proven experience with  OmniStudio / Vlocity 
  • Proven experience with  Experience Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations ADT workflows 
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, patient flow/bed management
  • Experience integrating with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athena)
  • Deep understanding of  HL7 / FHIR standards
  • Deep understanding of Real-time event-driven architectures

     

Preferred Qualifications:

• Salesforce certifications: o Certified Technical Architect (CTA) – preferred o Application Architect / System Architect o Health Cloud Accredited Professional

• Experience with AI/automation use cases: o Predictive bed assignment o Throughput optimization

• Familiarity with ServiceNow Healthcare workflows (nice-to-have)

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Solution Architecture & Design

  • Lead end-to-end architecture for a Salesforce-based Bed Board Management solution using Health Cloud, Experience Cloud, and OmniStudio.
  • Define scalable and canonical data models for:
    • Patient Admissions, Transfers, and Discharges (ADT)
    • Bed inventory, room attributes (acuity, isolation, specialty)
    • Capacity status (occupied, available, cleaning, reserved)
  • Design real-time visibility frameworks for hospital operations teams including bed control, nursing, EVS, and transport.

 

2. Healthcare Workflow Optimization

  • Translate clinical and operational workflows into Salesforce-driven solutions:
    • Admission and transfer processes
    • Intelligent bed assignment (rules-based and AI-assisted)
    • EVS cleaning lifecycle tracking
    • Patient transport coordination
  • Align system capabilities with key hospital KPIs:
    • Length of Stay (LOS)
    • Bed turnaround time
    • Emergency Department (ED) boarding time
    • Throughput and capacity utilization

 

3. Integration Architecture

  • Architect and oversee integrations with EHR and hospital systems:
    • HL7 v2 ADT messaging (A01, A03, A08, A11, etc.)
    • FHIR APIs (Patient, Encounter, Location, Bed resources)
  • Leverage middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Azure Integration Services for:
    • Event-driven architecture
    • Real-time data synchronization
  • Ensure seamless bidirectional data exchange between Salesforce and external systems.

 

4. Platform Configuration & Customization

  • Drive configuration and customization of Salesforce platform:
    • Custom objects for bed and room management
    • Lightning components and OmniStudio (FlexCards, OmniScripts) for UI/UX
    • Workflow orchestration using Flows and OmniStudio
  • Enforce scalable design patterns and Salesforce best practices.

 

5. Data, Analytics & Reporting

  • Design operational dashboards and command center views for:
    • Real-time bed availability
    • Bottleneck identification (e.g., discharge delays, cleaning backlog)
  • Enable predictive analytics for:
    • Capacity forecasting
    • Surge planning
  • Integrate with analytics platforms such as Snowflake, Tableau, and CRM Analytics.

 

6. Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH.
  • Design and implement role-based access control (RBAC) for clinical and operational users.
  • Establish audit trails, data governance, and security best practices.

 

7. Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders:
    • Clinical leadership (CMO, nursing teams)
    • Operations (bed management, EVS, patient access)
    • IT and integration teams
  • Lead architecture governance forums, design reviews, and executive presentations.
  • Translate technical architecture into business value and outcomes.

 

8. Delivery & Governance

  • Support Agile delivery teams by defining:
    • Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure delivery quality through:
    • Architecture governance
    • Design and code reviews
    • Testing strategies (SIT, UAT)
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to patient safety, system latency, and downtime.
