Salesforce Developer

The Salesforce Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the hands-on design and development of Salesforce components, working within the guardrails of the broader technical architecture to deliver high-quality, well-tested code and configurations. They take detailed technical designs and turn them into working solutions across Salesforce and integrated systems, contributing strong engineering judgment on implementation approach at the feature and component level. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Salesforce development, with solid working knowledge of surrounding technologies like databases, integration middleware, and APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Development: Building and configuring Salesforce components and features — potentially spanning multiple Salesforce clouds and external systems — in line with the architecture and designs provided.
• Technical Contribution: Acting as a senior technical contributor within the implementation team — writing high-quality code, participating in code reviews, following best practices, and mentoring junior developers on request.
• Integration Development: Building, testing, and troubleshooting integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise systems such as ERP and legacy databases.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Working with business analysts, leads, and stakeholders to clarify requirements at the story/task level and ensure delivered work matches expected functionality.

This involves:

• Developing Integration Solutions: Building and unit-testing integrations between Salesforce.com and other applications using batch, near real-time, and real-time patterns, as defined by the integration design.
• API Development: Developing and consuming REST and SOAP APIs in line with the established API-led integration strategy.
• Middleware and Tools: Configuring and working within integration tools and middleware platforms to connect business systems, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Data Governance Support: Applying data integration and governance rules during development, ensuring data quality and consistency in the code and configuration delivered.
• CPQ Solution Development: Configuring and coding Salesforce CPQ components — product bundles, pricing rules, quote calculation logic, and approval workflows — based on documented requirements and designs.
• Business Process Support: Collaborating with sales and finance stakeholders during testing and UAT cycles to confirm the quote generation process works as expected, and resolving related defects.
• System Integration Development: Building and testing CPQ integrations with other systems, such as passing closed quote data to an ERP or billing system, and debugging integration issues.
• Technical Contribution in CPQ: Participating in technical design discussions, contributing to architecture artifacts like data models and integration specifications, and ensuring personal work aligns with enterprise standards. This also includes performance tuning at the component level, writing and executing data migration scripts, and supporting release activities for large-scale CPQ programs.

In addition:

• Supporting Migration Workstreams: Acting as a senior engineering contributor on large-scale data migration projects, developing and executing the technical steps needed to transition complex datasets into Salesforce.
• Building Migration Components: Developing scalable and secure migration scripts and utilities that can handle large data volumes while adhering to security standards and platform limitations.
• Data Lineage Execution: Executing assigned parts of the data migration process, including data profiling, cleansing, transformation mapping, and reconciliation, and flagging issues to leads/architects.
• Technical Input: Providing technical input and options to leads on data handling approaches, archival implementation, and master data management (MDM) build tasks.
• Release Support: Supporting release management activities — deployments, environment configuration, and go-live technical support.
