Role Overview: The Mid-Level Salesforce Data Cloud Developer is responsible for independently delivering Data Cloud configurations and integrations that support defined business use cases. This role owns end-to-end implementation of assigned data streams, data models, and activation paths,while collaborating with Solution Architects on design decisions and best practices.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities: Data Ingestion & Integration
Independently configure and maintain Data Cloud data streams from Salesforce and approved external sources
Implement batch and near-real-time ingestion patterns
Troubleshoot ingestion errors, data latency, and schema mismatches
Monitor data volumes, ingestion health, and performance
Data Modeling & Identity Resolution: Build and maintain Data Model Objects (DMOs) and custom objects
Map multiple source systems to canonical customer models
Configure and test identity resolution rules and matching logic
Validate profile unification and resolve data quality issues
Activation & Use Case Enablement Build segments, calculated insights, and activation-ready datasets
Enable activation to: Marketing Cloud
Sales Cloud
Service Cloud
Data Streams and ingestion patterns
DMOs and customer-centric data models
Identity resolution and unification
Calculated Insights and segmentation
Validate activation outputs and downstream consumption
Support personalization, analytics, and reporting use cases
Development & Technical Delivery: Develop Apex, SOQL, and Flow to support Data Cloud use cases
Implement API-based integrations and custom connectors as needed
Support CI/CD, testing, and deployment activities
Optimize data configurations for scale and performance
Collaboration & Delivery Ownership: Partner with Solution Architects on technical designs
Work with Marketing, Analytics, and Data Engineering teams
Contribute to implementation documentation and run books
Support production issues and post-go-live stabilization
Required Skills & Experience:
Salesforce Data Cloud Hands-on experience delivering Salesforce Data Cloud implementations
Data & Integration Skills: Strong SQL skills for data validation and troubleshooting
Experience with REST APIs and integration patterns
Understanding of ETL / ELT concepts
Familiarity with Snowflake or cloud data warehouses (preferred) Salesforce Platform Skills
Solid experience with Apex, SOQL, and Flow
Understanding of Salesforce security, sharing, and data access models
Experience with sandbox strategy and deployment best practices
Certifications:
Salesforce Data Cloud certification Nice to Have: Marketing Cloud or Account Engagement experience
Experience supporting personalization or analytics use cases
Experience in professional services or multi-client environments
Experience Level (Typical): Mid-Level: 25 years Salesforce experience
Data Cloud: 13 implementations or equivalent hands-on delivery
