Job Title: Sales Team Leader – Renewals

Role Overview As a Team Lead – Renewals at Vedantu, you will be responsible for managing and guiding a team of Renewal Sales Executives focused on upgrading and upselling existing customers to higher program levels. Your role is to maximize revenue from the existing customer base by driving grade/level upgrades, improving retention, and ensuring every enrolled family sees the value in continuing and growing with Vedantu's K3 programs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Management & Performance
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of 8–12 Renewal Sales Executives.
- Ensure the team meets daily, weekly, and monthly renewal revenue and upgrade targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable, data-backed feedback.
- Plan rosters, assign renewal leads/accounts, and monitor attendance and productivity metrics.
2. Renewals Execution & Upgrade Funnel Management
- Track team performance on renewal outreach, upgrade pitch quality, objection handling, and closure.
- Ensure timely follow-ups on expiring subscriptions and high-utilization accounts primed for upgrade.
- Assist team members during high-value renewals or complex upsell conversations.
- Drive improvements in key metrics: renewal rate, upgrade conversion rate, revenue per account, and churn reduction.
3. Training & Quality Control
- Identify gaps in upgrade pitch, value articulation, and objection handling specific to renewal conversations.
- Conduct regular training on consultative selling, product knowledge (Phonics/Maths/Speakers/Coding), and competitive positioning.
- Ensure adherence to Vedantu's communication guidelines, sales ethics, and compliance norms.
4. Customer Handling & Escalations
- Handle parent escalations related to renewals, program dissatisfaction, or upgrade concerns — ensuring fast, empathetic, and satisfactory resolution.
- Maintain a high-quality, student-first experience aligned with Vedantu's brand values, especially with long-standing customers.
5. Reporting & Coordination
- Track and report daily/weekly/monthly renewals performance to the Sales Manager.
- Share insights on account health, churn signals, upgrade readiness, and parent feedback.
- Coordinate with product, academic operations, and customer success teams to address blockers to renewal or upgrade.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication in English and Hindi (regional language proficiency is a plus)
- High ownership, target-driven mindset with a focus on retention and growth
- Deep understanding of consultative/renewal selling — ability to coach the team on value-based upsell conversations
- Ability to identify churn risk early and drive proactive intervention
- Strong understanding of Inside Sales / Renewals model in EdTech
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to handle pressure in a high-velocity renewals environment
- Good with data, Excel/Sheets, CRM tools (e.g., LeadSquared, Salesforce)
- Prior experience in the K3 segment (Phonics, Maths, Speaking, Coding)
- Comfortable as both Individual Contributor and Team Handler
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in any stream (MBA preferred but not mandatory)
- 3–6 years of experience in Inside Sales, with prior experience in Renewals or Upgrade/Upsell roles mandatory
- Prior experience in EdTech is a strong advantage
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Team Lead handling a revenue-driven sales or renewals team
- Candidates without a renewals/upgrade sales background will not be considered
- Work timings: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM IST
