Sales Manager Domestic & Export (Food Ingredients Division)

1. Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and high-performing Sales Manager to lead domestic and international sales for potato starch, modified starch, starch derivatives, and other food ingredient products.
This role is responsible for new business development, key account management, export market expansion, brand visibility, and maximizing revenue across India and global markets. The ideal candidate must possess strong B2B sales capabilities, technical understanding of food ingredients, and deep experience handling both domestic and export operations.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Business Development (Domestic & Export)
Drive sales growth across India and international markets.
Identify, target, and acquire new B2B customers across FMCG, snacks, bakery, dairy, beverage, noodles/pasta, and food processing industries.
Promote and develop new application opportunities for starch and modified starch.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales & profitability targets.
Expand into new geographies and high-potential industry segments.
B. Key Account Management
Maintain deep relationships with domestic and export strategic clients.
Ensure timely communication, high service standards, and repeat business.
Work closely with procurement, R&D, QA, production, and logistics to support customer needs.
Resolve quality issues, complaints, and delivery concerns promptly.
C. Export Market Development
Identify and build new export markets and distributor networks.
Handle overseas enquiries, quotations, negotiations, pricing, and contract terms.
Develop long-term partnerships with foreign buyers, importers, and industrial
users.
Participate in international exhibitions and virtual global B2B events.
D. Documentation, Logistics & Compliance
Oversee export-related documents: PI, CI, PL, COO, BL, COA, MSDS, phytosanitary
certificates.
Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
Manage domestic order processing: GST invoice inputs, dispatch planning,
transporter coordination.
Handle customer documentation: vendor registrations, approval forms, product
data sheets.
E. Marketing & Brand Development
Conduct customer presentations, product trials, and technical demonstrations.
Support creation of brochures, digital content, application notes, and market
collaterals.
Monitor global ingredient trends and advise management on new opportunities.
F. Market Intelligence & Competition Analysis
Track competitor pricing, availability trends, and global demand movements.
Identify risks, opportunities, and shifts in domestic/export markets.
Provide insights for pricing strategy and business planning.
G. Reporting, CRM & Sales Forecasting
Prepare structured weekly/monthly sales reports and pipeline updates.
Maintain CRM/ERP entries for leads, orders, and activity logs.
Analyse sales performance and forecast future demand.
3. Skills & Competencies
Strong B2B sales, negotiation, and closing skills.
Technical understanding of food ingredients, starches & modified starches.
Knowledge of export documentation, INCOTERMS, HS codes & global trade norms.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building ability.
Strong analytical skills for pricing, market trends, and sales forecasting.
High proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, and report preparation.
Able to operate independently with high accountability.
4. Qualifications & Experience
Graduate/Postgraduate in Food Technology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Science
or Business Management (preferred).
310+ years of B2B sales experience in food ingredients or related categories.
Must have experience handling both domestic and export markets.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building new markets.

6. Compensation & Growth Path (same pattern as Senior Accountant JD)
Compensation Structure
CTC Range: 6 12 Lakhs (depending on experience & export exposure)
