Designation: Manager Business Growth & Development

Role Overview
The Manager Business Growth & Development will be responsible for building, scaling, and sustaining MediaSmart's business in the North India region, with a strong focus on Gurgaon-based agencies, trading desks, and large brand advertisers.
The role requires a seasoned brand and programmatic sales professional with an entrepreneurial mindset to replicate MediaSmart's global success in the Indian market by driving direct brand partnerships, agency relationships, and thought leadership across the branding ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Own and grow MediaSmart's programmatic and proximity-led advertising business in the assigned region.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline across large agency, trading desk, and direct brand IO engagements.
- Drive quarterly and annual revenue targets for the region.
- Activate and grow new advertiser accounts, while expanding existing relationships.
- Enable and support the direct sales team to accelerate programmatic revenue growth.
Agency, Brand & Ecosystem Engagement
- Engage at senior leadership levels with top advertisers and agency stakeholders to create and execute joint business plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media agencies, trading desks, DSP/DMP partners, and advertisers.
- Establish MediaSmart as a thought leader within the branding and programmatic ecosystem.
- Represent MediaSmart at industry forums, conferences, and networking events to identify trends and growth opportunities.
Product & Platform Leadership
- Lead sales for Affle's MediaSmart programmatic platform, including Proximity, CTV, RTB, and mDMP solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams to optimize programmatic platforms for maximum revenue and performance.
- Conduct regular evaluations of RTB programs, identify new monetization opportunities, and recommend enhancements (new technologies, optimization strategies, inventory audits, etc.).
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with Global Client Services, Supply, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure success for onboarded clients.
- Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and ownership.
- Deliver periodic reporting and performance analysis of programmatic and sales initiatives.
- Support multi-stakeholder deals involving global and regional coordination.
Required Experience & Skills
Experience
- 35 years of relevant experience in brand sales, programmatic sales, or business development.
- Prior experience working with:
- Big 5 media agency groups (agency desk / trading desk roles), OR
- Platform sales within DSP / DMP / AdTech / MarTech companies.
- Demonstrated experience handling complex, high-value deals with multiple stakeholders.
Technical & Market Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the mobile advertising, programmatic, and RTB ecosystem.
- Good working knowledge of sell-side platforms (SSPs) and supply-side dynamics.
- Familiarity with CTV, proximity marketing, data platforms, and performance metrics.
