Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Intern to support our Sales and Business Development teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the foundational elements of modern sales: targeted outreach/prospecting and data analysis. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, proactive, and comfortable working with both people and numbers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outreach & Prospecting (Approx. 60% of time)
  • Lead Generation: Research and identify high-quality potential leads and accounts (prospects) that fit our ideal customer profile (ICP) using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, industry directories, and internal databases.
  • Database Management: Maintain and enrich the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) with accurate prospect information, ensuring data integrity.
  • Initial Engagement: Assist in drafting and customizing outreach sequences (emails, LinkedIn messages) for initial contact under the guidance of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs).
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor the success rates of various outreach efforts (open rates, reply rates, conversion) to provide initial performance insights.

Data Analysis & Reporting (Approx. 40% of time)

  • Sales Metrics: Collect, clean, and analyze key sales and marketing data (e.g., outreach volume, conversion rates by channel, lead source performance).
  • Reporting: Create simple, actionable reports and dashboards to visualize outreach effectiveness and identify trends or bottlenecks in the sales pipeline.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to identify emerging market segments, competitive trends, or new contact sources to enhance targeting strategies.
  • Process Improvement: Summarize analytical findings and suggest data-backed improvements to our prospecting processes and Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) definition.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor's degree program (Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field preferred).
  • Strong interest in a career in sales, business development, or data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets is required (ability to use pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic formulas).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience or knowledgeable with a CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) or sales engagement tools is a plus, but not required.
