Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sales Executive role based in Chennai. The Sales Executive will be responsible for achieving sales targets for assigned territories and product lines, focusing on school and college textbooks as well as other educational titles. Daily responsibilities include visiting schools, colleges, and booksellers, conducting product presentations, building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, and gathering market intelligence. The role involves coordinating with distributors and retailers to ensure product availability, monitoring stock levels, and supporting timely order processing and collections. The Sales Executive will also collaborate closely with marketing and product development teams to provide feedback from the field, support promotional campaigns, and participate in book fairs, exhibitions, and academic events as required.
Qualifications
- Proven skills in field sales, territory management, and relationship building with schools, colleges, and booksellers.
- Ability to conduct effective product presentations, negotiate with stakeholders, and close sales to meet or exceed targets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with educators, academic leaders, and trade partners.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM or sales tracking tools.
- Relevant experience in publishing, education, or FMCG sales is highly desirable; prior experience in academic book sales is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and handle regular travel within the assigned region.
- Comfort working in a target-driven, performance-focused environment with a collaborative and ethical approach.
