Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Sales Assistant with 1 to 4 years of experience, preferably in the railway industry. The candidate will support the sales team in handling customer coordination, preparing quotations, following up on inquiries, maintaining sales records, and assisting in business development activities related to railway products/projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the sales team in day-to-day sales operations and coordination.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, tender-related documents, and sales reports.
• Follow up with customers for inquiries, orders, payments, and dispatch updates.
• Coordinate with internal departments like production, logistics, and accounts for smooth order execution.
• Maintain customer database, sales records, and MIS reports.
• Assist in identifying new business opportunities in the railway sector.
• Handle client communication through email, phone, and meetings when required.
• Support tender submissions and documentation for railway-related projects.
• Ensure timely response to customer requirements and resolve basic sales-related issues.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and channel partners.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of sales coordination and customer handling.
• Experience in railway industry or railway-related products/projects is mandatory/preferred.
• Familiarity with quotation preparation, order processing, and tender documentation.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Ability to work in a target-oriented and deadline-driven environment.
• Good organizational and follow-up skills.

Eligibility Criteria

• Graduate in any discipline; MBA/Marketing background preferred.
• 1 to 4 years of experience in sales support / sales coordination.
• Candidates with railway sector experience will be preferred.
• Based in or willing to work in Calcutta (Kolkata).

• Knowledge of tendering process in railway business will be an added advantage.
