Job Description

General Summary:

Automation in the pulp and paper industry offers exceptional growth opportunities for BTG. Expanding its installed base of our unique instruments offering, BTG's goal is to maintain and grow our leadership position in pulp & paper. To support this target, the BTG India Sales Organization has an immediate opening for a Sales Engineer, based at Hyderabad, India.

The Sales Engineer will support Process Solutions sales and marketing activity and educate our customers on our Solutions. The Sales Engineer will respond to RFPs, prepare customer quotes, develop solutions, and answer technical questions that arise in the sales process. Applicants should have prior Instruments, Pulp & Paper Process and application knowledge and thoroughly enjoy presenting to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales activities (preparing offers, respond to RFPs, and prepare technical solutions with stakeholders)
  • Define high-quality technical and commercially competitive solutions against customer requirements
  • Provide technical support for development of marketing content such as white papers, case studies, and solution sheets.
  • Support BTG interactive marketing activities (prepare presentation materials, questionnaires & surveys, conduct prospect and customer webinars, and participate in Q&A sessions)
  • Guide customers and prospects on how to best apply BTG Process Solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, demonstrating a high level of confidentiality and respect.
  • Identify market needs and product portfolio positioning to support the go-to-market strategy
  • Execute the BTG sales strategy in India, working with our customers and BTG support teams.
  • Plan, coordinate, execute and follow pilots/trials, surveys and services that support the business proposal to ensure sales conversion.
  • Be accountable for communicating plans, progress, and performance to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and establishment of best practices within BTG.
  • Generate monthly reports to summarize application performance and ongoing sales activities.
  • Participate as a team member or in managing larger regional projects as assigned.
  • Provide outstanding service to customers, supported by the global BTG team.
  • Responsible for own personal safety, the safety of the team and those around you.
  • Work in accordance with and enforce compliance with all BTG policies (ex: Safety, Code of Conduct, Commercial Policy, Security Policy and Export Compliance) to maintain BTG reputation and image.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical / Pulp and Paper Technology / Instrumentation / Process Control) or equivalent
  • 5-7 years experience relevant experience, with a particular focus on Automation within the Pulp and Paper industries.
