Illume Gene partners with customers as a Knowledge Partner, delivering genomics, proteomics, and cell biology solutions across biotechnology, genetic engineering, and molecular biology. Its portfolio includes molecular diagnostic kits, PCR/qPCR consumables, NGS library kits, enzymes, buffers, media, antibodies, and various research kits. To simplify laboratory logistics, the company also integrates supply capabilities for lab hardware, plastics, instruments, infrastructure, and lab design solutions.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Sales and Marketing Specialist based in Bengaluru. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities in key life science segments such as biotechnology, molecular biology, and diagnostics, while nurturing long-term relationships with existing customers. The specialist will conduct product presentations and demonstrations, understand customer requirements, and propose appropriate solutions from Illume Gene's portfolio. Daily responsibilities include managing the sales pipeline, preparing quotations, negotiating terms, and achieving revenue and growth targets for assigned territories or product lines. The role also includes supporting marketing campaigns, participating in conferences and workshops, gathering market intelligence, and providing feedback to internal teams to refine product positioning and customer engagement strategies.

Qualifications

  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, understand technical requirements, and provide responsive support.
  • Proven Sales experience in life sciences or related industries, with the ability to prospect, qualify leads, and close opportunities.
  • Experience or aptitude in Sales Management, including pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting on sales performance.
  • Ability to deliver Training and product demonstrations to customers, distributors, and internal teams, both individually and in group settings.
  • Educational background in Life Sciences (e.g., Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field); advanced degrees are an advantage.
  • Understanding of genomics, proteomics, molecular diagnostics, or laboratory workflows is highly desirable.
  • Comfort working in a start-up or high-growth environment with a proactive, self-motivated, and target-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to travel within the region for customer visits, events, and field support as required.
