Position Overview
The Sales Intern Market Intelligence & Lead Generation is responsible for building the front-end intelligence layer of the ESCOSS sales pipeline.
This role does not involve blind cold calling or random outreach. Instead, you will operate as a market researcher and sales intelligence analyst, identifying high-value target organizations, mapping decision-makers, and supplying actionable insights to Account Executives.
This position is ideal for a driven student or recent graduate seeking a structured entry into high-ticket B2B sales, working under direct mentorship from senior sales leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Target Identification
- Conduct deep-dive research across defined industry verticals (BFSI, Manufacturing, SaaS, Enterprise IT)
- Identify organizations that match ESCOSS's ideal customer profile
- Map internal hierarchies to identify key stakeholders (CISOs, CTOs, Heads of IT, Engineering Leadership)
- Track signals indicating cybersecurity demand (compliance changes, funding rounds, breaches, expansion activity)
Competitor Analysis & Market Positioning
- Monitor competing cybersecurity firms for pricing models, service offerings, and messaging
- Identify gaps and differentiators that ESCOSS can leverage in enterprise sales conversations
- Prepare weekly market intelligence briefs highlighting competitive and industry shifts
Sales Intelligence & Tool Usage
- Build proficiency with professional sales intelligence platforms (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, Lusha, similar tools)
- Interpret buying signals and intent data to prioritize accounts
- Use advanced search and boolean logic to uncover hard-to-find decision-makers
Lead Generation & Pipeline Support
- Build, verify, and maintain high-quality enterprise contact lists
- Enforce strict data accuracy standards to ensure clean outreach (low bounce, verified contacts)
- Segment leads by company size, revenue, industry, and technology stack for targeted sales efforts
CRM & Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline hygiene
- Track lead status across outreach cycles and update engagement notes
- Log relevant intelligence (company news, leadership changes, technology updates) for sales teams
Training & Professional Development
- Participate in weekly sales strategy and pipeline review sessions
- Shadow live sales calls and product demos to understand objection handling and deal dynamics
- Receive structured mentoring on business communication, persuasion, and B2B sales psychology
Candidate Requirements
Education & Background
- Current student or recent graduate (BBA / MBA preferred, or technical background with strong business interest)
- Prior exposure to sales, research, or marketing is a plus but not mandatory
Core Skills & Competencies
- Strong research capability beyond surface-level searches
- Comfort with spreadsheets and data organization (Google Sheets / Excel)
- Clear written communication with the ability to summarize insights concisely
