Job Title Sales Manager

Job Purpose
To drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, leading the sales team, and achieving order booking targets for pharmaceutical and process equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve annual and quarterly sales targets.
- Identify new business opportunities in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, and allied industries.
- Generate and qualify leads through customer visits, exhibitions, references, and market intelligence.
- Manage the complete sales cycle: enquiry handling, technical discussions, proposal submission, negotiation, and order closure.
Key Account Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating withprojects, service, and manufacturing teams.
Proposal & Commercial Management
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals in coordination with engineering and costing teams.
- Lead price negotiations and contract finalization within approved margins.
- Ensure timely receipt of purchase orders and advance payments.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to improve performance.
- Set individual targets, review performance, and conduct regular sales reviews.
- Support team members during critical customer meetings and negotiations.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
- Provide inputs for product development and customization based on market feedback.
- Participate in exhibitions, seminars, and industry events (CPHI, P-MEC, etc.).
Internal Coordination
- Coordinate with projects, planning, and execution teams for order handover and execution.
- Support payment follow-ups in coordination with accounts team.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Order booking value and revenue achievement
- Conversion ratio (enquiry to order)
- Customer acquisition and retention
- Gross margin achievement
- Sales pipeline health and forecasting accuracy
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- MBA in Sales & Marketing (preferred).
- 610 years of sales experience in pharmaceutical machinery / process equipment.
- Proven track record of handling high-value capital equipment sales.

Compensation
- As per industry standards and experience (CTC + performance-linked incentives)
Requirements
Minimum 8 years of experience in Sales & Marketing, from Pharma Process Equipmentor Packaging Machine manufacturing field.
Good communication and negotiation skills and ability to get along with the team.
Able to work independently and effortlessly manage tasks.
Qualifications
Minimum B.E./B.Tech, MBA/PGDM will be preferred.
