Safety Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer to manage and implement Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety (EOH&S) systems in our manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, implementing ISO-based management systems, promoting a strong safety culture, and safeguarding employees, assets, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance requirements under Factories Act, 1948, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), and Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH).

Report incidents and statutory matters to government authorities in consultation with Operations Director and Top Management.

Develop, implement, and monitor the EOH&S Management System in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Conduct HIRA, AspectImpact analysis, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.

Plan and conduct internal safety audits; ensure timely corrective and preventive action (CAPA) closure.

Maintain statutory records, environmental monitoring reports, and ensure timely renewal of licenses and consents.

Implement and monitor the Work Permit System and contractor safety compliance within plant premises.

Review emergency preparedness and response plans; conduct mock drills and coordinate safety committee meetings.

Perform regular plant safety inspections and coordinate with department heads to eliminate unsafe acts and conditions.

Organize safety awareness programs including toolbox talks, safety campaigns, health check-up camps, and National Safety Week activities.

Monitor hazardous waste management, fire protection systems, and environmental performance parameters.

Report EOH&S performance metrics and compliance status to Top Management periodically.

Qualification-

Diploma / Degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.

Minimum 35 years of experience in manufacturing / industrial environment.
