Key Performance Area:
- Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, 1948, and applicable safety rules
- Implement and monitor plant safety policies, SOPs, and work permit systems
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Identify unsafe acts and conditions; recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training programs
- Monitor the use of PPE and ensure adequate availability
- Maintain statutory safety records, registers, and reports
- Coordinate fire safety systems, mock drills, and emergency response plans
- Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with plant safety norms
- Support the implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Liaise with government safety inspectors and external auditors
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives
