Description
The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees by promoting and enforcing safety practices and regulations. This role involves conducting safety audits, providing training, and investigating incidents to enhance workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with legal requirements.
- Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and ongoing training for existing staff.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine cause and prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a safety officer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards in India.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees and management.
- Certification in safety management or related field (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
