An Automotive Functional Safety Expert leads ISO 26262 compliance, developing safety concepts (HARA, FSR, TSR), conducting FTA/FMEA analyses, and managing safety cases for electronic systems.
They interface with customers/OEMs to define safety requirements, perform audits, and guide engineering teams, ensuring systems fail safely.
Key Responsibilities
- ISO 26262 Compliance: Lead the full functional safety lifecycle, including hazard analysis and risk assessments (HARA), functional safety concepts (FSC), and technical safety concepts (TSC).
- Safety Analysis: Perform and review safety analyses such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA/DFMEA/FMEDA) to ensure system reliability.
- Safety Documentation & Case: Create and maintain safety plans, Safety Case reports, and Development Interface Agreements (DIAs) with suppliers.
- Verification & Validation: Execute or support safety assessments, audits, and validation tests to ensure safety requirements are met.
- Technical Leadership: Guide software and hardware teams on implementing safety mechanisms, diagnostic coverage, and architectural requirements
