Post/Job Title: Safety Engineer

Job Purpose

To ensure a safe working environment for all personnel involved in the project by identifying, assessing, and mitigating safety risks. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs, policies, and procedures that comply with legal regulations and industry standards. A Safety Engineer plays a critical role in preventing accidents, reducing hazards, and promoting a culture of safety across the construction site

Duration: It is a fixed term contract for a period of 2 years

Job Location: Candidate is expected to work in IIMB Jigani campus

Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• To monitor the quality, safety and progress of works as per terms of the contract and approved schedule.
• To coordinate with the Immediate Superior Cum Project Manager of IIMB in all his duties as listed under Project Engineer.
• To monitor and impose quality/assurance on the materials and workmanship on works as per contract and BIS.
• To impose safety standards as per NBC 2015/Contract on Works and submit weekly reports.
• To monitor and keep quality and safety audit documents essentials on works for submission to technical audit.

Key Skill and Ability Requirements

Familiarity with local, national, and international safety standards, codes, and regulations. Industry-recognized safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or IOSH) are often required. Ability to identify hazards and assess risks, developing effective mitigation strategies.

Qualification andPersonal Profile

• The candidate should be a graduate or postgraduate with certification from Indian Safety Council preferably with Legal aspects of safety engineering/OSHA certification.
• The candidate is expected to have a minimum of 8 years of field experience in handling assignments listed under principal accountability & responsibilities.
• Age: Should be below 45 years.
