Work Schedule: 6:30 PM IST 3:30 AM IST (1 hour flexibility for urgent client calls)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Elixir & Phoenix Developer with hands-on Ruby on Rails experience to lead backend development and technical architecture. The role involves owning system scalability, performance, and reliability, mentoring engineers, and driving long-term technical improvements while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Development
- Lead the design, development, and evolution of backend systems using Elixir and Phoenix
- Take ownership of technical architecture, scalability, performance, and reliability decisions
- Drive technical discussions, brainstorming sessions, and solution design
- Own delivery of complex features end-to-end, from planning to production
Platform Maintenance & Improvement
- Support and maintain the existing platform built using Ruby and Ember.js
- Drive gradual refactoring and technical improvements in legacy systems
- Proactively identify technical risks and propose long-term improvements
Code Quality & Best Practices
- Write high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code
- Review code and enforce engineering best practices across the team
- Set coding standards and ensure adherence to clean architecture principles
Mentorship & Collaboration
- Mentor, guide, and grow engineers through hands-on technical leadership
- Help team members grow by sharing knowledge and best practices
- Collaborate closely with product, business, and client-facing teams
Production & Delivery
- Support production issues and ensure system stability
- Ensure smooth releases and overall system reliability
- Take accountability for system health and uptime
Technical Skills:
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Active hands-on experience with Elixir and Phoenix
- Some hands-on experience with Ruby (Ruby on Rails preferred)
- Writes clean, high-quality, and maintainable code
