Techolution is seeking a passionate and driven Robotics Motion Planning & Simulation Engineer Intern to support the development of cutting-edge robotic systems where innovation meets real-world impact. As an intern, you will work closely with senior engineers to build, test, and optimize robotic solutions using modern technologies like ROS 2, Cobot systems, robotics simulation, and AI/ML.

Job Description:
- Develop and maintain basic ROS 2 (Humble) packages and support migration activities from ROS 1 to ROS 2 under guidance.
- Assist in the design, setup, and integration of collaborative robot (COBOT) arms for industrial and research-oriented applications.
- Support programming and configuration of robotic systems for various automation tasks.
- Co-ordinate with other systems and devices in an industrial automation environment to ensure smooth communication and interaction.
- Work with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET) to enable efficient data exchange between robotic components.
- Utilize robotics simulation tools such as Gazebo and Nvidia Isaac Sim for modeling, testing, and validating robotic behavior prior to deployment.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of robotic systems to ensure reliable performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of innovative robotic solutions.
- Document designs, testing processes, observations, and results for internal knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics, AI/ML, simulation technologies, and industrial automation.
Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (pursuing or completed) in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic or project-level experience with ROS 2 (Humble).
- Understanding of robotics kinematics and fundamentals of AI/ML.
- Exposure to industrial robotics, COBOT systems, or robotic arm manipulation.
- Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET).
- Hands-on experience with Gazebo or other robotics simulation environments; familiarity with Isaac Sim is a plus.
- Proficiency in Python backend development with an understanding of AI/ML workflows.
- Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration capabilities.
- Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, learning-oriented environment.
Preferable Skills:
- Hands-on experience with sensor integration, especially depth cameras and related tools.
- Understanding of Nvidia Isaac Sim features such as URDF/SDF import and synthetic data generation.
- Experience or coursework in developing motion planning algorithms (path planning, trajectory generation, obstacle avoidance).
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in robotics.
- Familiarity with industrial automation safety standards.
- Basic understanding of reinforcement learning concepts (MDPs, TD, Dyna-Q, etc.).
