This Position reports to:

Service Team Leader


Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.

This role is contributing to the ABB Robotics in Pune, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points.
  • Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
  • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.

Qualifications for the role
  • Diploma / BE / B. Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Robotics Field Service paint robot experience preferred.
  • Experience working with ABB Paint Robots is an added advantage.
  • Strong skills in mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting for robotic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC communications, robotic peripherals, and ability to read electrical & mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on paint robots and associated systems.
  • Strong customer-handling ability and communication skills capable of supporting customers via on-call or telephonic assistance.
  • Willingness to travel 60-70% across India able to travel on short notice and work weekends/holidays when required.
  • Knowledge of paint processes, paint systems, and adherence to safety standards including PPE usage.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage highpressure situations, maintain daily work updates, and willingness to relocate if required.
