Position: Marine Cargo & Supply Chain Risk Manager

Role Overview
We are seeking a Marine Cargo & Supply Chain Risk Manager to drive marine cargo risk engineering, loss control, and marine warranty surveying across multimodal transit operations. The role focuses on preventing cargo losses, managing recurring claims, and supporting underwriters through robust risk assessments, technical surveys, and loss prevention solutionsespecially for critical and over-dimensional cargo (ODC) and frequent occurring losses pertaining to packing, handling & mishandling in transit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Marine Loss Control Engineering (MLCE) activities to minimize cargo transit losses and support profitable underwriting.
- Conduct marine cargo risk assessments, root cause analysis (RCA) of claims, and recommend corrective measures.
- Execute and manage Marine Warranty Surveys (PDI, dispatch inspections, vessel surveys, CAS/SIRE, desktop reviews) across surface, air, sea, rail, and multimodal transport.
- Oversee transit risk management for critical and ODC cargo, including route surveys, cargo securing, and dispatch controls.
- Provide technical advisory on cargo securing, packaging adequacy, vessel risk visibility, and loss prevention strategies.
- Monitor loss ratios for high-frequency loss policies and implement cost-effective mitigation measures.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, dashboards, and client presentations.
- Conduct domestic and international on-site surveys as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Marine/Logistics/Industrial) or Chief Mate/Second Mate COC.
- IRDA Cargo Surveyor certification or relevant MWS/MLCE certifications (preferred).
- 510 years experience in marine cargo risk engineering, marine warranty surveying, claims, packaging risk, or supply chain risk management.
- Strong exposure to ODC movements, multimodal transport, vessel assessments, and cargo packaging standards.
