Job Title: Risk and Control Enablement Executive Manager

Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park

Business & Team:

CBA India is responsible for servicing multiple brands and business units across the Group, delivering a highly flexible operations, technology and data management functions, outstanding customer experiences and better risk outcomes. This is achieved through process management and a cross-skilled, capable workforce.

The Chief Controls Office (CCO) is a first line of defence function that provides comprehensive and integrated risk management support to CBA India. The value proposition of the CCO is to provide skilled, practical and efficient risk management support to CBA India in the delivery of excellent business and customer outcomes.

The CCO function delivers effective business and customer outcomes through the following risk services:

  • Implementation and adherence to the Operational and Compliance Risk Management Frameworks.

  • Specialist advice, consultation and services to support the business in identifying, monitoring and managing its respective risks and controls.

  • Build and embedment of strong risk capability and culture across the CBA India.

  • Risk governance and reporting.

  • Risk in Change assessment in support of project and transformation activities across the CBA India.

  • Supplier risk assessment and governance.

  • Controls assurance and continuous improvement through control automation.

Impact & Contribution:

The Executive Manager CBA India Risk will lead the team accountable for strengthening and embedding the risk and control environment across CBA India. You will lead a team focused on delivering high quality risk management services across Operations, Business line support, Human Resources, Property, Procurement, Finance and other support functions. The role will also work closely with other risk and compliance teams across the three lines of defence and with the CBA India leadership team.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior management across CBA India regarding current and emerging risks, and risk maturity. You will ensure risk behaviours, processes and ongoing management and prevention become part of the ways of working across all of CBA India.

This role will also improve team effectiveness and performance, drive capability uplift activity and exemplify a strong and proactive risk culture.

Reporting Lines:

This role will report to the General Manager Risk, CBA India

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.

  • The Executive Manager CBA India Risk combines leadership, business acumen, and strategic thinking with technical risk management skills. Your responsibilities include:

  • Drive a strong, proactive risk and controls culture across our business stakeholders.

  • Providing a strategic view to senior management of current and emerging risks across CBA India, and the effectiveness of operational risk and compliance management. This includes communicating the bigger picture as to how these risks are being managed.

  • Lead and uplift team capability in developing a passionate and high performing team culture.

  • Driving the Risk agenda (including Risk Maturity, Capability and Culture) across CBA India.

  • Leading the oversight, monitoring and/or management of key operational risks and controls.

  • Assessing and making recommendations in relation to the management or acceptance of operational risks in products, processes or as part of business initiatives

  • Leading independent reviews/ deep dives within CBA India to assess the effectiveness of operational risk management and to improve business process/ control design.

  • Lead risk input into CBA India, including the development of the entity Business Profile, and working with teams and the leadership team to ensure delivered risks are appropriately managed.

  • Provide support to CBA India in meeting compliance obligations and assisting management with interactions and reviews by regulators.

  • Lead the creation of Board and Management reporting.

  • Inspires others to demonstrate CBA Group's values and works together to create a passionate, high performing culture.

Technology Skills:

  • 18+ years experience in banking/financial services/other relevant experience, and/or minimum 6+ years experience in Operational Risk management roles.

  • Ability to coordinate complex deliverables with the challenge of finite resources.

  • Pragmatic and outcome focused.

  • Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems.

  • High levels of stakeholder management at senior levels.

  • A demonstrated self-starter with the ability to adapt to changing business requirements.

Education Qualifications:

Any specialized graduate OR postgraduate
