The Onshore Rig Move Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of moving drilling rigs from one location to another. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of rig operations and safety procedures. The supervisor ensures that all activities comply with company standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Planning and Coordination:
Develop detailed rig move plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and logistics.
Coordinate with various departments such as drilling, logistics, safety, and engineering to ensure all aspects of the rig move are covered.
Schedule and conduct pre-move meetings to communicate plans and expectations to the team.
2. Safety Management:
Ensure that all rig move activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks to educate crew members on potential hazards and safe practices.
Monitor rig move operations to ensure adherence to safety procedures and intervene when necessary.
3. Operational Supervision:
Oversee the dismantling, transportation, and reassembly of drilling rigs and associated equipment.
Manage on-site personnel, including rig crews, drivers, and subcontractors, to ensure efficient operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the rig move process.
4. Logistics Management:
Organize transportation for equipment and personnel, ensuring timely delivery to the new site.
Manage inventory and ensure that all necessary equipment and tools are available and in good condition.
Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers for specialized transport needs.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of rig move activities, including schedules, incidents, and equipment status.
Prepare and submit detailed reports on the rig move process, including any challenges encountered and lessons learned.
Ensure all required permits and documentation are obtained and compliant with regulatory requirements.
6. Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate rig move operations to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and safety.
Implement best practices and innovations to enhance future rig move operations.
Conduct post-move evaluations with team members to discuss successes and areas for development.
