Job Description

Manager Retail Training (Learning & Development)

Location: HSR Layout, Bangalore (with Pan-India travel)

Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on L&D Manager for Retail to build strong in-store capability and elevate customer experience across Blissclub retail stores. This role will work closely with Store Managers, Retail Ops, Product, and HR teams to drive consistent training on product knowledge, brand values, selling skills, and service standards. The role requires high on-ground presence and frequent Pan-India travel to train, coach, and upskill store teams through structured programs, assessments, and real-time floor coaching.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Training & Capability Building

  • Plan and deliver in-store training programs across Pan-India Blissclub stores
  • Train store teams on customer experience, service standards, and selling skills
  • Conduct product knowledge and brand training for new launches and collections
  • Be present on the shop floor to observe customer interactions and provide real-time coaching
  • Identify skill gaps on-ground and design focused training interventions

Onboarding & Continuous Learning

  • Design and run onboarding, induction and Floor Ready programs for new store hires
  • Drive periodic refreshers based on performance gaps, feedback, and business priorities
  • Act as a coach/consultant to store teams for on-the-job challenges
  • Build a culture of continuous learning and capability building across retail teams

Training Content & Assessments

  • Create simple training material, SOPs, quick reference guides, and playbooks for store teams
  • Design and run assessments to evaluate product knowledge, brand understanding, and service standards
  • Organize role plays, simulations, and interactive activities (e.g., objection handling, CX scenarios)
  • Leverage gamification, case studies, and group activities to improve learning engagement

Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with Retail Ops and Product teams to stay aligned on processes and product updates
  • Track training coverage, participation, assessment scores, and on-ground effectiveness
  • Share training insights, gaps, and improvement plans with leadership

Must-Haves

  • 47 years of experience in Retail Training / L&D / Store Operations (fashion, lifestyle, D2C preferred)
  • Strong understanding of customer experience, in-store selling, and retail service standards
  • Comfortable with frequent Pan-India travel and on-ground store training
  • Hands-on, people-first trainer with strong floor coaching capability
  • Ability to create simple training content (PPTs, guides, checklists, SOPs)
  • Strong communication skills in English & Hindi (regional languages area plus)
  • High ownership, structured working style, comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience running assessments and certification programs for frontline teams
  • Exposure to D2C / omnichannel retail environments
  • Familiarity with training impact metrics, reporting & LMS tools, and Wooqer Platform
  • Understanding of POS systems / retail tech (Shopify or similaris a plus)
