About the Role
We are looking for a talented REST API Developer (Python) to join our freelance expert network and work on high-impact backend engineering projects. In this role, you will help build robust API ecosystems that power modern AI platforms, enterprise applications, and scalable digital products.
You will be responsible for designing efficient backend architectures, developing production-grade APIs, optimizing system performance, and ensuring secure integrations across multiple platforms. This role is ideal for developers who enjoy solving complex backend challenges and building reliable systems at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize high-performance REST APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Build scalable backend services to support AI products, dashboards, and enterprise applications.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization systems including JWT, OAuth, and token-based access.
- Integrate APIs with databases, cloud platforms, third-party tools, and frontend applications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best engineering practices.
- Create automated unit tests, integration tests, and debugging workflows for stable deployments.
- Monitor API performance, troubleshoot production issues, and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and engineering teams to deliver seamless solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on Python backend development experience.
- Strong expertise in RESTful API design principles, HTTP methods, status codes, and versioning.
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar Python frameworks.
- Good understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman, Swagger, or Pytest.
- Knowledge of Docker, cloud deployment, CI/CD pipelines, or microservices is a plus.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
