Job Overview
The Respiratory Therapist Specialist – Apprentice program is designed for fresh graduates aspiring to build a career in respiratory care and mechanical ventilation technology. As part of a leading healthcare/medical device organization, the apprentice will receive intensive training on mechanical ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP systems, and other respiratory care devices while supporting clinical teams in hospitals.
This is a structured learning role with strong exposure to real-world clinical workflows, device handling, and interaction with ICU/critical care staff.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Technical Learning
- Learn the fundamentals of mechanical ventilation, respiratory parameters, and device operations.
- Assist senior respiratory therapists and application specialists during ventilator demonstrations, installations, and clinical support sessions.
- Observe and assist with ventilator setup, configuration, and monitoring in ICU, NICU, PICU, and emergency settings.
- Understand different ventilation modes (e.g., Volume Control, Pressure Control, SIMV, CPAP).
Application & Customer Support
- Support in conducting product demos and hands-on training for clinicians and nurses.
- Assist in troubleshooting basic device issues under guidance from senior team members.
- Learn how to document feedback, clinical observations, and usage patterns from hospitals.
Device Management & Compliance
- Help in performing routine checks, preventive maintenance, and performance assessments of ventilators.
- Ensure proper cleaning, handling, and safety protocols for all respiratory devices.
- Follow company SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and hospital infection control norms.
Training & Certification
- Participate in structured internal training programs on respiratory therapy and ventilator technology.
- Complete skill assessments, modules, and certification milestones during the apprenticeship period.
Required Qualifications
Education (Freshers Only):
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in:
- Respiratory Therapy / Respiratory Care
Preferred Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of Human Respiratory physiology
- Interest in mechanical ventilation and critical care devices
- Comfort working in hospital/ICU environments
