The Resource Manager is responsible for managing the allocation, utilization, and deployment of consultants across global regions and practices. Operating as part of a centralized Global Resource Management function based in India, this role serves as a key partner to delivery leaders, practice leaders, project managers, and business stakeholders across Americas, EMEA, APAC, and India.
The Resource Manager ensures the right talent is assigned to the right opportunities while balancing business demand, consultant development, utilization targets, and workforce planning objectives.
A Typical Day In The Life Includes
Global Resource Planning & Allocation
- Manage end-to-end resource allocation activities across multiple regions and business units.
- Review staffing demand and identify suitable consultants based on skills, experience, availability, location, and business requirements.
- Facilitate staffing discussions with delivery and practice leadership to ensure optimal resource deployment.
- Balance competing resource priorities while maintaining utilization and fulfillment targets.
- Proactively identify redeployment opportunities for consultants approaching assignment completion.
- Support cross-regional staffing and workforce mobility initiatives.
Workforce Management & Utilization
- Monitor consultant utilization, availability, and bench capacity.
- Analyze workforce trends and recommend actions to improve utilization and resource effectiveness.
- Support short- and medium-term capacity planning activities.
- Identify emerging skill shortages and excess capacity areas.
- Partner with hiring teams and leadership to support workforce planning decisions.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong working relationships with global delivery leaders, practice leaders, project managers, and account stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on staffing availability and workforce planning considerations.
- Facilitate resource review meetings and staffing governance discussions.
- Resolve resource conflicts through collaboration and data-driven recommendations.
Reporting & Analytics
- Produce and maintain workforce planning dashboards and reports.
- Provide insights into utilization, fulfillment performance, demand pipeline, and capacity forecasts.
- Track resource allocation trends and staffing effectiveness metrics.
- Support leadership reporting and workforce review sessions.
Process Excellence
- Ensure workforce planning data is maintained accurately within resource management systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Resource Management function.
- Support the adoption of best practices, standard processes, and workforce planning governance.
Basic Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in Resource Management, Workforce Planning, PMO, Professional Services Operations, or related functions.
- Experience supporting global delivery organizations preferred.
- Strong understanding of resource allocation, utilization management, and capacity planning.
- Experience working with resource management and workforce planning tools.
