Job Description

Job Title: Research Associate

Location: Baner, Pune

Years of Experience: 1-3 years

Role Overview:

The Research Associate Organic & Analytical will support R&D through organic synthesis, formulation work, and analytical testing. The role focuses on conducting lab experiments, generating accurate analytical data, and assisting in product development and scale-up activities. The candidate will work closely with QC and Production teams while ensuring all work follows ISO, GLP, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Analytical & Testing

  • Conduct analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as GC, HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis, TGA/DSC, and viscometer.
  • Prepare, standardize, and maintain reagents, solvents, and analytical solutions.
  • Interpret analytical test results, conduct impurity profiling, stability studies, and composition analysis.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize analytical test methods as required.
  • Maintain calibration logs, analytical records, and ensure complete data traceability.

Organic Synthesis & Formulation

  • Perform organic synthesis, reactions, purifications, and formulation experiments.
  • Optimize reaction conditions including solvent selection, temperature, catalyst, and pH.
  • Conduct purification techniques such as distillation, crystallization, extraction, and chromatography.
  • Prepare lab-scale batches, stability samples, and application-testing samples.
  • Record experimental observations, yields, reaction parameters, and formulation details accurately.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or related field.
  • 13 years of hands-on experience in organic synthesis, formulation, or analytical testing.
  • Practical knowledge of lab synthesis equipment (reflux setup, reactors, rotary evaporator, purification tools).
  • Experience operating analytical instruments such as GC, HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis, TGA/DSC, etc.
  • Strong understanding of reaction mechanisms, analytical techniques, and data interpretation.
  • Excellent documentation, observation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ISO/QMS, GLP, and laboratory safety protocols.
