Research And Development Manager

Role Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Manager - R&D to lead end-to-end research, design, and development

of advanced software-hardware integrated systems. The role combines technical leadership, system design, simulation, pricing, procurement, government procedures, scenario visualization, and business development support, making it ideal for candidates experienced in regulated and government-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead R&D across software, electronics, mechanical design, and system integration

Drive system architecture, design, simulation, prototyping, testing, and validation Oversee use of simulation and modeling tools for performance optimization

Visualize multiple technical, operational, and business scenarios and assess their impact on cost, pricing, timelines, system performance, risk, and compliance

Support pricing, cost estimation, BOM finalization, and technical costing

Work closely with procurement on vendor evaluation, sourcing, and make/buy decisions

Ensure the successful development and launch of new products or technologies

Oversee the planning and execution of research projects.

Ensure adherence to government procedures, tenders, compliance, and regulatory standards Provide technical leadership for bids, proposals, tenders, and customer presentation.

Collaborate with Business Development, Sales, and Program teams to align R&D outcomes with commercial goals.

Build, mentor, and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams

Track emerging technologies and drive continuous innovation

Requirements

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related

discipline

10+ years of experience in R&D, engineering leadership, or system development Strong expertise in software-hardware integrated systems

Hands-on experience in electronics design, mechanical design, and system architecture Proficiency in design and simulation software such as:

Mechanical: ANSYS, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, etc

Electronics: Altium, OrCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, etc

Experience with bench testing, validation, and qualification tools and methodologies Solid understanding of pricing, costing, BOMs, and procurement processes

Knowledge of government procurement procedures, tenders, and compliance frameworks (advantage)

Strong project management expertise, with hands-on experience using tools such as Microsoft Project and Primavera to monitor timelines, resources, risks, and dependencies

Ability to manage and steer multiple projects simultaneously in a structured environment with

PM Software like Microsoft Project and Primavera.

Experience supporting business development, bids, and technical proposals

Record of published research and patents.

Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills

Ability to translate complex technical solutions into business and customer value
