Research and Development Intern (Biomedical Polymers)

The School of International Biodesign (SiB) is a prestigious initiative by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, focused on biomedical innovation. Based at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, SiB builds on the legacy of the Stanford India Biodesign program. SiB is dedicated to training the next generation of medical technology innovators and developing affordable, accessible medical device technologies tailored to the unique healthcare needs of India. The program emphasizes innovation in addressing unmet medical needs and the early development of impactful healthcare solutions.

This is an internship role for a Research and Development Intern specializing in biomedical polymers. The intern will actively participate in research and development activities, including designing, synthesizing, and characterizing novel biomedical polymers for innovative medical technologies. Responsibilities may also include conducting experiments in a laboratory setting, analyzing data, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. This is an on-site role located in New Delhi, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic, innovation-focused environment.

• Research and Development (R&D) experience, with a focus on biomedical applications
• Strong Analytical Skills for data interpretation and problem-solving in research activities
• Proficiency in conducting Research and Laboratory Skills, including an understanding of relevant techniques and tools
• Effective Communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Enrollment in or completion of a degree program in bioengineering, polymer science, materials science, or related fields
• Familiarity with medical device development or healthcare innovation is a plus
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to learning
