Job Description:


The job holder is responsible for justification of the damages and repair solutions from static strength and fatigue and damage tolerance point of view. The job holder will work in close collaboration with a design colleague to provide a suitable repair solution.

The various activities to perform are:
Carry out stress calculations to assess design solutions using standard hand and computer methods. Further create, compile and co-ordinate engineering documentation to achieve valid technical data for repairs.
Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing best practices, identifying lessons learnt, improving methods and reducing cost. Contribute to zero-defects & non-conformance reduction.

Primary Skills :

Strong Knowledge in SOM

  • Good experience in hand calculation through classical approach
  • Static & Fatigue classical analysis
  • Perform stress analysis to determine structural adequacy of the repair design in compliance with the certified type design and airworthiness requirements
  • Basic knowledge on FEA
  • Good knowledge on Engineering fundamentals, proficient in GD&T and Engineering drawing reading
  • Create and develop structural engineering substantiation reports
  • Must have a basic understanding of load paths, stability of structure and aircraft structural behaviour. Must be familiar with both classical and numerical (Finite Element) analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of both metallic and composite materials

Secondary Skills

  • Experience of performing Aircraft repair solutions.
  • Working knowledge of all Airbus Structures.
  • Working knowledge of different Airbus programs (SA, LR and A350).
  • Knowledge of Airbus stress/fatigue manuals and tools.
  • Knowledge of the application of FE analysis on Airbus products.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability.
